Cassie Croc has Coeliac Disease is a story book for primary school aged children and was written by Anthea Allen (a society member) when she was 11 years old. After suffering the symptoms of coeliac disease for about 5 to 6 years, Anthea was finally diagnosed at 10 years of age.

The dietitian who helped Anthea when she was first adjusting to coeliac disease, asked Anthea if she would like to try writing a story that might help other children to gain a better understanding of the disease. Anthea responded positively and really enjoyed the challenge.

This delightful full colour book tells the story of the Cassie Croc's diagnosis and treatment of coeliac disease.

The wonderful illustrations in Cassie Croc has Coeliac Disease were done by Jamie Gonzalez at 12 years of age. Jamie loves to draw and hopes to be a cartoonist when he is older.

Guidelines for the Management of a Gluten Free Diet at Schools and at School Camps are available for the assistance of members.
